pearl jam

For as long as I have known Jason he has loved Pearl Jam; most guys on a first date try to impress a girl with some romantic mood music ... not Jason. I remember riding in his silver rodeo to our first date while Pearl Jam played in the background (so sweet).

A few months ago Jason told me that the one band he really wanted to see in concert was Pearl Jam. Ironically, that week one of the guys at work told me he was really excited because Pearl Jam tickets were going on sale. I was soooo excited! The guy at work told me to get on Ticketmaster right when the tickets went on sale or I wouldn't get any. So I literally had 5 people waiting to search for tickets right when the clock struck 11, and thanks to Holly, I was able to score two tickets before they all sold out in 11 minutes (for both nights). At the time Jason was in the middle of his finals crunch so I decided to give them to him as a "Happy end of finals" present after he took his last test. He was very excited and even more so when he found out that it had been 5 years since their last appearance at the garden.

Last night was the big night and if you ask Jason, the concert exceeded all of his expectations, so much that the first sounds of Eddie's voice gave him goosebumps. I'm not a huge fan of Pearl Jam (I just don't listen to them enough to know their songs) but I have to admit that Eddie's voice was amazing live. The garden was pact with several 30 somethings trying to relive their youth and despite a few spilled beers and no "Yellow Ledbetter", I had a great time. I don't know what it is about concerts but even when I'm not a huge fan of the music it's so fun to be surrounded by all the crazy fans who are. And for those of you who aren't familiar with Pearl Jam, I've added a few of my favorites songs for your listening enjoyment.

You're such a good wife! You know Jason wanted to brag to all his friends about how cool his wife is. Dug was there last night too - I like Pearl Jam so I wish I could have gone with him. But you are so right about watching a band live, it is just so thrilling even if you aren't a huge fan otherwise.
